Chamber unveils Baycrest visitor kiosk

Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center board member Adrienne Sweeney cuts the ribbon at the formal opening of the chamber’s new visitor information kiosk at the Baycrest Hill viewpoint. Watching are, from left to right, South Peninsula Hospital CEO Bob Letson, now the chamber board’s new president; chamber board member Tom Soderholm; Kachemak Bay Board of Realtors member Gina Pelaia; chamber board member Patrick Mede; Kachemak Bay Board of Realtors member Amanda Miotke; past chamber president Tom Stroozas; Homer Mayor Bryan Zak, chamber director Karen Zak; and chamber member services manager Emily Berg. The kiosk was built with a $2,500 grant from the National Association of Realtors. Pelaia spearheaded the project when she was former president of the Kachemak Bay Board of Realtors. The kiosk will be open during daylight hours in the winter and then for extended hours in the summer, and includes information about Homer businesses and recreational opportunities.
