Chamber to support Small Business Saturday
The Homer Chamber of Commerce will serve as a Neighborhood Champion for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25.
“The Homer Chamber would like to encourage the community to shop local. Shopping local benefits our community beyond mere convenience. When you support local business owners, you get a better level of service, as well as helping make your community a better place to live,” said Homer Chamber of Commerce Marketing Director Bridget Maryott.
Shop local on Saturday Nov. 25. At 10 a.m. that day, the Homer Chamber of Commerce will be set up outside NOMAR, the Homer Bookstore, Kachemak Gear Shed, and Homer Saw &Cycle and handing out more than 200 free canvas bags and giving everyone a flyer with all participating businesses on it.
Coupons with local offers will be in the bags for everyone to enjoy. All participating businesses are listed on the chamber’s website at www.homeralaska.org/shop-small-saturday.
Small Business Saturday is an annual shopping tradition dedicated to supporting small businesses and celebrating communities across the country.
Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
This year, shoppers can get out and support the places they love with the people they love on Nov 25.
