First cruise ship visits Tuesday

The 778-foot Holland America cruise ship Amsterdam calls on Homer at 8 a.m. Tuesday, the first cruise ship of the season. The Amsterdam visits 10 times, calling every other Tuesday through Sept. 18. The 14-day cruise takes the ship from Seattle to Anchorage and back, with stops in Homer, Kodiak, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and Victoria, B.C.

Also visiting is the 610-foot Silversea cruise ship Silver Shadow, at 8 a.m. May 23, and the 443-foot Windstar cruise ship, Star Legend. The Silver Shadow visits Homer as part of a North Pacific Ocean crossing from Tokyo to Seward via Russia, with stops also in Dutch Harbor and Kodiak. The Star Legend visits Homer at 8 a.m. Sept. 11 and makes a North Pacific Ocean crossing from Seward to Tokyo, stopping in Homer , Kodiak, Sand Point and Dutch Harbor.

The visits are:

• Holland America Amsterdam, 8 a.m. May 15, May 29, June 12, June 26, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7, Aug. 21, Sept. 4, Sept. 18

• Silversea Silver Shadow, 8 a.m. May 23

• Windstar Star Legend, 8 a.m. Sept. 11
