Troopers

Jan. 22

Alaska State Troopers at 12:50 p.m. went to a possible sighting of a wanted 30-year-old Anchor Point man at a Mark Lane address. The man is a person of interest in several recent crimes in Homer. Police contacted the man and after a struggle arrested him. He was arrested on the original warrant and also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Homer Police

Jan. 15

A caller at 8:10 a.m. reported an issue with a car and employee at an East End Road business. Police said it was a civil matter and advised the caller of options.

A caller at 1:08 p.m. reported a suspicious person on the Homer Spit.

Several callers at 5 p.m. reported a man and woman stumbling into traffic on East End Road. Police responded and provided transportation home for the couple.

Homer Fire

Jan. 18-24

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to nine medical calls and two fire calls.

Jan. 24

Firefighters at 5:50 a.m. went to a structure fire on Clover Lane that was fully involved when they arrived. Crews put out the fire. The house and a motorhome were a total loss. No one was injured.

Billy R. Gardner, 45, charges dismissed, fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Tricia D. Cochran, 35, charge dismissed, fugitive from justice.

Manfred M. Kirchner, 62, charge dismissed, fourth-degree assault.

Jan. 11

A person at 11:27 a.m. made a 911 call of a car crash with damages on Pioneer Avenue. Police responded.

A caller at 1:22 p.m. reported a driver in a car backed into a sign on Pioneer Avenue and left the scene.

A caller at 4:26 p.m. reported damage to her car.

Jan. 12

Police at 4:11 a.m. contacted a 43-year-old woman at a Klondike Avenue address and arrested her on an outstanding warrant.

Alaska State Troopers at 10:22 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 57-year-old Anchor Point man on the Old Sterling Highway. Police arrested the man for driving under the influence and fourth-degree weapons misconduct for driving drunk while in possession of firearms.

A caller at 8 p.m. reported harassing text communications.

Jan. 5

A caller at 12:47 a.m. reported hearing a gunshot in the Main Street area. Police responded but could not find the source of the gunshot.

A person at 4:02 a.m. made a 911 call of a woman in a Bartlett Street parking lot who needed assistance. The woman was taken to South Peninsula Hospital.

Trooper report

Dec. 28

Alaska State Troopers at 6:04 p.m made a traffic stop on a 44-year-old Anchor Point man in Anchor Point. Troopers arrested the man for driving while license revoked.

Troopers at 8:36 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 40-year-old Anchor Point man in Anchor Point. Troopers said the man was out of jail on conditions of release for a prior arrest for driving while license revoked. Troopers arrested the man for violating conditions of release and DWLR.

A person at 10:05 a.m. made a 911 call of an armed robbery at an Ohlson Lane shop. Police responded.

A caller at 10:05 a.m. reported a theft from a car on Kachemak Drive.

Police at 2:19 p.m. arrested a 28-year-old man on a warrant.

Dec. 29

A police officer at 2:51 a.m. reported a car off Skyline Drive that was stuck.

A caller at 8:19 a.m. reported a civil issue involving a towed vehicle on the Spit.
