Court records show the following actions taken in Homer District Court through Sept. 16:

Judgments 

Don James Holten, 46, pleaded guilty to domestic violence assault in the fourth degree. He was ordered to pay $50 to the police training fund and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended. He was ordered to provide a DNA sample to the state and to enroll in a batterer’s program.

At 9:46 a.m.,  a caller reported a student  with drugs on school grounds at Homer Flex. The student was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance. 

At 1:34 p.m., a caller requested additional patrol of the Herndon Drive neighborhood due to someone accessing her vehicle at night.

Alaska State Troopers, Central Peninsula EMS and Life Flight Alaska at 2:14 p.m. responded to approximately milepost 143 of the Sterling Highway for a vehicle- to-vehicle collision with injuries.

A caller at 6:41 p.m. reported hearing subjects yelling on Crittenden Drive. An officer responded and discovered a verbal-only domestic dispute between family members.

At 11:54 p.m. an officer conducted a welfare check on a person outside a business on the Homer Bypass. All was OK.

State Trooper Report

Sept. 5

Alaska State Troopers at 11:02 p.m. went to a car crash at Mile 132 Sterling Highway near Ninilchik. Troopers said a 68-year-old Anchor Point woman driving south in a 2001 Dodge Durango hit an adult moose. All occupants in the car wore seatbelts and were uninjured. Damage to the car was estimated at about $6,000.

A caller at 10:25 a.m. reported trucks using loud brakes in the Meadow Drive residential area. Police responded.

A caller at 10:37 a.m. reported the use of counterfeit currency at a Sterling Highway business. Police responded. 

A woman at 11:11 a.m. reported a fraud at a Greatland Street business. An officer advised her of her options. 

A caller at 12:07 p.m. reported a theft from an Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded.

Judgments

Corey K. Rosano, 36, charges dismissed, failure to hold preliminary hearing, first-degree sexual abuse of a minor under age 13, three counts; second-degree sexual abuse of a minor under age 13, three counts; unlawful exploitation of a minor; possession of child pornography, five counts, all felonies, all domestic violence related.

State Trooper Report

Aug. 28

Alaska State Troopers at 12:32 p.m. went to a report of a theft from a Fanning Road home in Homer. Troopers said two large marine batteries worth $800 each were taken from a boat parked at the home. During the investigation troopers contacted a 41-year-old Homer woman and a 32-year-old Homer man. The man was arrested for second-degree theft and the woman for a probation violation. The batteries were recovered and returned to the owner.

A caller at 7:24 a.m. asked police to patrol Bishop’s Beach because of suspected drug activity.

A caller at 10:12 a.m. reported harassment on the Poopdeck Trail. Police responded and issued a summons to a 30-year-old man for harassment.

A man at 3:40 p.m. reported a stolen bicycle from a Bonanza Avenue home.

A man at 3:05 p.m. reported a domestic assault at an Ocean Drive home. Police responded and arrested a 55-year-old woman for assault.

Aug. 22

Alaska State Troopers at 8:39 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 32-year-old Homer mean at Mile 83 Seward Highway near Portage. Troopers issued the man a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a valid operator’s license.
