The city of Homer and Kenai Peninsula Borough canvass boards have tallied results in the Oct. 2 municipal election.

The city of Homer ballot included three candidates for the two-year term of mayor and three candidates for two openings on the Homer City Council, each one a three-year term. The election results were certified by the council at its regular meeting on Monday: 

• Mayor: Mary E. (Beth) Wythe, 530 votes; Bryan Zak, 354 votes.

• City council (two chosen): Francie Roberts, 630 votes; Beau Burgess, 472 votes; James Dolma, 429 votes.

Ballots for southern Kenai Peninsula Borough residents included the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly, District 9-South Peninsula; School Board, Seat 8-Homer and the west side of Cook Inlet; and seats in three service areas. Certification of the election results was on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly’s agenda for its Tuesday meeting.

• KPB Assembly, 9: Mako Haggerty, 536 votes; Jesse Clutts, 321 votes.

• KPB School Board, Seat 8: Liz Downing, 524 votes; Mike Illg, 514 votes.

• Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Service Area, Seat B: Jon Marsh, 247 votes

• Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Service Area, Seat C: Reuben Sherwood, 257 votes

• Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Service Area, Seat D: Erica J. Steven, 247 votes

• Seldovia Recreation Service Area, Seat A: Mark D. Janes, 90 votes;

• Seldovia Recreation Service Area, Seat B: Sheryl A. Hingley, 81 votes;

• Seldovia Recreation Service Area, Seat C: Sandra R. Murray, 84 votes;

• Seldovia Recreation Service Area, Seat D: Vivian Rojas, 94 votes;

• Seldovia Recreation Service Area, Seat E: Ila S. Dillon, 87 votes;

• South Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area, Seat A: Jacque Lenew, 1,371 votes;

• South Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area, Seat B: Christine Griffard, 1,367 votes;

• South Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area, Seat G: Ryan P. Ridge, 1,396 votes.
