Keep running, Boston

Local and visiting walkers and runners young and old turned out Saturday to honor victims of the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings. Homer’s 26.2-minute event, one for each mile of the marathon, was held on the new Homer High School track. Asked by organizer Mike Illg to wear shirts, hats or jackets commemorating running and walking events, many of Saturday’s participants were previous previous Boston Marathon competitors and brought apparel they passed around to be worn by others.
