Homestead once again makes Wine Spectator list

The Homestead Restaurant and wine director Sharlene Cline have once again been honored by Wine Spectator as one of 3,595 world restaurants to receive the Award of Excellence in the magazine’s 2016 Restaurant Awards. The restaurant also made the 2015 list.

The program honors restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.

“On behalf of Wind Spectator, I’m thrilled to congratulate each and every award-winning restaurant. They should be very proud,” said Marvin Shanken, editor and publisher.

The Homestead is one of 12 Alaska restaurants honored, and the only Kenai Peninsula restaurant listed. Other Alaska restaurants noted include Alpenglow Restaurant, Denali National Park; Dove Island Lodge, Sitka; Lavelle’s Bistro, Fairbanks; Seven Glaciers, Girdwood; the Grape Tap, Wasilla; and Marx Bros. Cafe, Sacks Cafe and Restaurant, Southside Bistro, The Crow’s Nest, and Sullivan’s Steakhouse, all of Anchorage.

The complete list of awards is in the August issue of Wine Spectator. For more information, visit Wine Spectator’s website at restaurants.winespectator.com and on its new, free app, Restaurant Awards.
