Catriona Reynolds named new executive director of KBFPC

new executive director

Catriona Reynolds has been named the new executive director of Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic. She previously worked as clinic manager there.

“Catriona has more than fourteen years of experience with KBFPC and we look forward to the excellent leadership and passion she brings to the mission of our organization. Her vast expertise in the reproductive health field at the local, state and federal level has enriched the clinic for years and we are convinced that in her new role, her accomplishments and determination will continue to enrich our clinic as well as our community,” said the board in a press release announcing Reynolds’ promotion. “We welcome Catriona in her new role with KBFPC and celebrate and support her as our new executive director.”

Reynolds was elected in 2014 to the Homer City Council shortly after marrying her husband, Derek Reynolds. Born and raised in Lancashire, England, Reynolds came to the United States in 1990 and has been a U.S. citizen since 1999. In 1995 she moved to Homer with her former husband and started a coffee shop, Catzenjammer’s. Before starting at family planning she worked at the Pratt Musuem. She also has lived in Anchorage and Girdwood. Reynolds has two children from her first marriage.

An avid snowboarder and bicyclist, Reynolds is a founding member of the Homer Cycling Club and a promoter of making Homer safe for bicyclists and pedestrians. Reynolds also does volunteer work for the Kachemak Ski Club, the Kachemak Bay Running Club and Homer High School Mariner sports. Reynolds also has served on the Alaska Medical Care Advisory Committee.
