at 23rd annual open house
NOMAR will host its 23rd annual Christmas open house with Santa on Nov. 27.
Store hours on that day will be from noon to 4 p.m. Santa will be there from 1-3 p.m.
Santa “will meet with your kids to discuss how good they have been this year and just what they might like Santa to bring them,” according to a NOMAR press release. “This is a great time for you to get that special picture, so be sure to bring your camera.”
The open house includes gift ideas, free gift wrapping, door prizes and a treat for the kids.
Located on 104 E. Pioneer Ave., NOMAR is known for its fleece clothing, outdoor gear, upholstery and fisheries products and full-service boat shop. It was named Made in Alaska’s “2013 Manufacturer of the Year.”
NOMAR got its start in 1976, when owners Ben and Kate Mitchell were living in Ketchikan. It came to Homer in 1978, when the Mitchells were transferred here with the Coast Guard.
Store hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays; and noon-4 p.m. Sundays starting Nov. 27 until Christmas. The store will be closed Christmas Day and Dec. 26.
