Body of missing Colorado man found near Kenai Lake shore
The body of 34-year-old Daniel Compeau, a Colorado man who went missing near Kenai Lake last month, has been found, Alaska State Troopers say.
Soldotna troopers got a call that someone found the body near the Kenai Lake shoreline on Sept. 15. It was identified by the state medical examiner Monday, according to a trooper dispatch. Compeau’s next of kin have been contacted.
Compeau’s remains were found on private property close to where troopers think we went missing, said Alaska State Troopers Public Information Officer Megan Peters in an email. It is unknown how his remains surfaced in the lake a month after he was first reported missing on Aug. 15, and Peters said her department likely won’t look into that.
