Halloween Haunts in Homer
Oct. 31: Trick or Treat at the Historic Cabin at the Pratt Museum, 4-6 p.m.
Oct. 31: Trick or Treat at South Peninsula Hospital Long Term Care, 4:30-8 p.m. Use the lower level rehabilitation entrance, then use the elevator or stairs.
Oct. 31: Halloween One Way in the Mountainview and Bayview neighborhood, 5-8 p.m. Car traffic will be limited to one way only, east on Mountainview and west on Bayview, to reduce congestion and open a pedestrian lane for trick-or-treaters. Participants are asked to park and walk from the side streets to make things safer. For more information or to volunteer, contact Poppy Benson at 299-0092.
Nov. 5: Great Candy Exchange at Rotary Health Fair at Homer High School, 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Kids ages 10 and under can trade their Halloween candy for prizes. The candy collected will be sent in holiday care packages to deployed U.S. troops. Kids can also make a personal greeting card to send with their candy.
Oct. 27: Haunted Hickory at Coast Guard pier (next to Homer Ferry Terminal), 3:30-4:30 p.m., 6-9 p.m. See story, “Hickory crew haunts Homer on Thursday,” for more details.
Oct. 28: McNeil Canyon Elementary Fall Carnival, 5-8 p.m.
Oct. 30: (F)all Out Fun Ride (and Run) on Rollin’ Coal trail at Diamond Creek State Recreation Area, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. See story on page XX for more information.
Oct. 31: Harvest Carnival at Christian Community Church at 3838 Bartlett St., 5-7 p.m. Free games and candy.
Oct. 29: Halloween Dance Party with DJ Movement at Alice’s Champagne Palace, 9 p.m.
