Marine Trades scholarship goes to 2009 Kachemak Selo graduate

Deonisy Konev, a 2009 graduate of Kachemak Selo, has been awarded the 2014 Homer Marine Trades Scholarship of $1,000. The scholarship is open to current or prior year high school graduates pursuing vocational education and training.
Konev attended Kachemak Bay Campus for two years and is 12 credits short of receiving an associate’s degree. He will begin a course of study in information technology at AVTEC, Alaska’s Institute of Technology, in Seward in August.
“I want to thank Homer Marine Trades for awarding me this scholarship,” said Konev. “I’m very happy with this.” Konev also received the 2014 Drew Scalzi Scholarship of $1,000.
