Scholarship deadline approaches

The Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club sponsors two $1,500 scholarships for the spring 2016 Kachemak Bay Campus semester. Application packages must be received by Dec. 30. 

Applicants must attend the Kachemak Bay Campus and demonstrate the best combination of financial need, academic achievement, career goals and Rotary principles. 

To qualify, applicants must be fully admitted to a KPC or University of Alaska Anchorage certificate or degree program by the award date. Applicants must have earned less than 60 university credits. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits but preference may be given to applicants enrolled in 12 or more credits. Applicants who are returning KBC students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. Other financial awards will be considered to determine the financial need for these scholarships. Applicants may be asked by the Rotary Scholarship Committee for a personal interview. Completed applications must include an application for the scholarship, which is available from KBC’s financial aid office, a copy of transcripts to verify 2.5 GPA from most recent high school or college, and a completed and signed financial needs assessment form. 

Completed applications must also include a description of the applicant’s community service and volunteer activities, future education and career goals, and the basis for financial need. 

Submit all forms and applications to Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club, attention Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 377, Homer, AK  99603. Applicants who submit incomplete application packages will not be considered. Funds must be used for the academic year/semester awarded or the scholarship is forfeited.
