It was a happy Arbor Day

The 4-H ALLs would like to thank our community for helping celebrate Arbor Day at Karen Hornaday Park. There was lots of excitement and happy faces as we planted the paper birch tree and painted rocks.

Thank you to Sherry Pederson for writing the grant to get the tree and to Alaska Community Forest Council for giving us the grant. We would also like to thank Save-U-More for the wonderful donation of snacks and juice. Finally we would like to thank Connections Homeschool and the Trogott family for giving us paint for the rocks. And a special thanks to all the people who participated in the activity.

We hope the tree stands tall for many years. If you would like to see the tree, it is next to the pavilion at Karen Hornaday Park.
