Through April: Friday Night Fives, a noncompetitive 5k, begins at Two Sisters Bakery, 233 E. Bunnell Ave., 5:30 p.m., free.

May 18: Special Olympics Torch Run, a 5k event that begins at the base of the Homer Spit; free or minimum $25 donation to get a T-shirt; 9:30 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. start time; barbecue following the race.

May 12: 16th annual Migration Run, a USATF-certified 5k event that begins near the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon; entry fee $10, $5 for 10 and under, $20 family; sponsored by the Homer Chamber of Commerce and Visitor and the KBRC; benefits KBRC youth sports programs; 9 a.m. race time; contact Bill Steyer at 399-1078 or shorebird@homeralaska.org.
