Alaska State Troopers at 8:48 a.m. received a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint that then become report of a car crash with injuries near Mile 139 Sterling Highway near Ninilchik. Troopers responded and found a black Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 56-year-old Anchor Point man hit a school bus driven by a 54-year-old Ninilchik woman. No children were on the bus and the driver wore her seat belt. Ninilchik EMTs took the man to Central Peninsula Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Troopers charged the man with reckless driving.
Troopers at 8:41 a.m. saw a black Ford pickup truck being driven with one headlight out. Troopers stopped the truck for the equipment violation and identified the driver as a 68-year-old Anchor Point man. Troopers said the man had a revoked license and issued him a summons for driving while license revoked.
Troopers at 2:23 p.m. went to the Ninilchik Senior Center residential complex for a report of a death. Troopers said a 76-year-old Ninilchik woman died at home of natural causes. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin was present. The body was released to a funeral home.
