Feb. 2

Alaska State Troopers at 3:30 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 17-year-old boy after he nearly hit a trooper patrol car in Homer. Troopers issued a summons to the boy for negligent driving and driving in violation of his instructional permit.

Feb. 3

Troopers at 3:58 p.m. did a sex-offender registration check on a 34-year-old Homer man. Troopers said the man did not live at the address on his sex-offender registration and failed to provide written notice of his residency change. Because the man had a prior conviction for failure to register as a sex offender, troopers arrested and charged the man with first-degree failure to register as a sex offender.

Feb. 5

Troopers at 5:22 p.m. made a traffic stop at 28-year-old Anchorage woman driving a 2012 Chrysler 200 on the Sterling Highway in Ninilchik. Troopers said she was speeding and driving too close to the car in front of her. Troopers determined the woman was on felony probation. At the request of her probation officer, troopers arrested her for violating conditions of probation and reckless driving.

Feb. 8

Troopers at 9:28 a.m. received a report of a Conex container that was broken into near the Sterling Highway in Anchor Point.  The complainant reported the lock was cut and the door was ajar and an ATV and genertor were stolen. The theft was believed to have been within the last two months. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-478-HALT (478-4258). An investigation is continues.
