Alaska State Troopers at 2:52 a.m. went to a report of a disturbance at an East End Road address. Troopers said an 18-year-old Homer man assaulted another man with a handgun while at a house party. Troopers found the suspect at his home and arrested him for third-degree assault.
Troopers at 4:31 p.m. made a traffic stop for speeding on a 49-year-old Anchor Point man driving a 1995 Dodge Dakota near Mile 142 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers arrested the man for driving under the influence.
Troopers at 12:08 a.m. went to the report of a 56-year-old Homer man found dead at his home near Mile 168 Sterling Highway. Troopers said the man died of natural causes and no foul play was suspected. Next of kin was on scene.
Troopers at 12:12 a.m. responded with Kachemak Emergency Services and Homer Volunteer Fire Department medics to a Spyglass Street home for a 26-year-old woman who was not breathing. Medics arrived on scene and attempted to revive the woman. Efforts to revive Lamson continued at South Peninsula Hospital but were unsuccessful. Troopers identified the death as a possible drug overdose. The woman’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner for autopsy. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin were notified.
