Alaska State Troopers went to a report of a burglary at Cavalry Baptist Church in Ninilchik. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
Troopers obtained arrest warrants on a 39-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman, both of Kenai, for second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft. At 1:22 a.m. on Aug. 10 troopers contacted the women in a 1994 Plymouth sedan at Homer Middle School. Troopers saw mail belonging to many people from the Homer area that did not belong to the women. Troopers later served a warrant and found more than 100 items that had been stolen. Troopers also found a small amount of methamphetamine. Anchorage police arrested the 39-year-old woman. The 46-year-old woman remains at large.
