Scott Robert Pierson

 


Scott Robert Pierson, 39, passed away Oct. 31, 2012, at his home in Bozeman, Mont., after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Jan. 14, 1973, in Anchorage, to Michael and Vicki (Sullivan) Pierson. He graduated from Homer High School in Homer in 1991 before attending Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, Mo., and Montana State University in Bozeman. On Dec. 4, 2009, Scott married Melinda Lebo.

Scott worked for Nabors Drilling Company in Alaska and Bridger Mountain Log Homes in Belgrade, Mont., before becoming the owner of On the Rise Bakery. He loved the outdoors, especially hiking, camping and fishing, and he enjoyed cooking. He was soft-spoken with a tender heart. He was modest, funny and smart. He was an attentive father and a loving husband and a perfect son. He will be missed by all.

Scott is survived by his wife, Melinda; children, Kendyl and Conor Pierson; step-children, Teagan and Elizabeth Salter; parents, Mike and Vicki Pierson; grandparents, Kenneth and Pearl Sullivan; uncle, Kenny (Cherie) Sullivan; aunt, Kris Pierson Hart; special family that were like his sister and brother, Brandy Hannon McNabb and her husband, Daniel, and Mike Hannon and his wife, Christine; and numerous other aunts, cousins, and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Myrna Pierson; and aunts, Sharon Sullivan Hannon and Marcia Pierson. 

Visitation was held at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service, Bozeman, on Nov. 4, 2102, from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Nov. 5, 2012, at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel.
