Elizabeth Crowder McClaren

Elizabeth Crowder McClaren

died Dec. 18, 2016

Elizabeth Crowder McClaren died in Anchor Point on Dec. 18, 2016, surrounded by her family. A burial was arranged at the Anchor Point Cemetery as Libby directed due to a promise she made to her dear friend Harriet.

Libby made her home in Alaska, living in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Kodiak and Anchor Point, where she leaves many friends with happy memories.

There is no writing that could do justice to the complex personality that was Libby; from her diabolical competitiveness at cribbage to her ongoing fascination with the history of the holocaust and Nazis, or even her profound love of fine tequila, Robert W. Service and good music.

The only thing Libby loved more than talking to people and learning about their lives was teaching them about her loving Creator who offers a sure hope for an even better life to come.

Loved ones awaiting Libby’s resurrection include her husband, Clarence McClaren; her children, Elliot Blacha, Max Blacha, and Mamie Walker; her mother, brothers and sisters; and a vast multitude of dear friends and relatives spanning several continents.

Condolences may be sent to her daughter, Mamie Walker, at 6110 Austin Street #A, Anchorage, AK 99518.
