for kids set for Saturday

At 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, Homer kids aged 4 to 12 are invited to the Kevin Bell Arena for a free beginner hockey clinic. The event is a celebration of USA Hockey’s “Come Play Hockey Month,” and is meant to help kids experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basic skills in a fun, safe environment, said Homer Hockey Association Vice President Jan Rumble.

“Our goal is for these families to enjoy watching their kids learn new skills with big smiles on their faces,” she said.

The clinic is part of USA Hockey and the National Hockey League’s national Try Hockey program. Similar clinics are going on in nearly 500 locations all over the country, sponsored by KraftHeinz, Total Hockey and Liberty Mutual Insurance.
