Alaska State Troopers at 9:36 p.m. tried to stop the driver of a Honda motorcycle near Mile 155 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers said the driver failed to stop and accelerating to more than 120 mph and passing in a no-passing zone. Troopers stopped the pursuit after 4 miles because of public safety concerns. Troopers later found the motorcycle near Mile 144 Sterling Highway, but the driver fled on foot. On April 16 troopers identified a suspect as a 29-year-old Soldotna man. Troopers said the man had an outstanding felony arrest warrant on drug charges, driving while license revoked and driving without a license. He also had a revoked license out of Hawaii. Troopers on April 19 issued a warrant on new charges of first-degree failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer, reckless driving and driving while license revoked.
