South Peninsula Hospital offers a smoking cessation class. Sessions run at 6 p.m. starting Tuesday and continue Jan. 9, Jan. 13, Jan. 15, Jan. 17, Jan. 21 and Jan. 23 at the hospital. The class is $100. To register, call 235-0258 by Jan. 6.

The council for the Kachemak Bay Research Reserve invites you to join them for the next quarterly meeting, 1-4:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Research Reserve office on Kachemak Drive. The agenda will include a presentation on the reserve's five-year research plan and reports from council committees.
