Winter whitens Homer landscape

Snow clings to wires along Diamond Ridge Road on Thursday. The weight of snow brought down power lines in the area on Christmas Eve, causing homes to be without lights for seeral hours.

This snow-covered cow parsnip near Bishop's Beach is the closest thing to a winter bloom found outside in Homer these days after cold temperatures finally killed off the hardy flowers in front of the Post Office and elsewhere around town.
