Auditions and rehearsals for a regular Friday night comedy show will be Fridays at 6 p.m. starting Friday at Alice's Champagne Palace. Call Dax at 299-0319.

The Fireweed Gallery will host an art swap and sale through Jan. 12. Bring in art items you no longer want. There is a 20 percent commission on sales and no commission on swaps. Items may be brought to the gallery any time during the event. Remaining work must be picked up Jan. 12. The gallery will be closed Jan. 13-Feb. 12.

There will be a square and contra dance at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at McNeil Canyon Elementary School. Rich Kleinleder will call dances to music by Thistle. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes to dance in. Beginners are welcome. Admission is $6; kids younger than 16 years get in free.

Salem will perform at 10 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Down East Saloon. Admission is $2.

Bunnell Street Gallery presents "The Boycott," a play about global warming written and performed by Kathryn Bloom. The performance is at 7 p.m. Jan. 22-23 at the gallery. Tickets are $12 or $10 for gallery members. Call 235-2662.
