South Peninsula Hospital presents a free educational forum on sleep disorders and the solutions available to get a sound, restful sleep at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the South Peninsula Hospital Training Center at 203 W. Pioneer Ave. Featured presenter Dee O'Brien, the SPH Sleep Center Manager, will help participants learn how to recognize sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, understand the long-term health effects of sleep deprivation, and discover treatment options that ultimately lead to a better quality of life.

O'Brien has more than 30 years experience in cardiopulmonary work, and eight years specializing in sleep medicine. She is a certified respiratory therapist and a registered polysomnographic technician.

The event is free and open to the public. Healthy refreshments and a door prize drawing will be offered.
