Nicholas Paul Sherwood was born at 4:49 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2012, at South Peninsula Hospital to Rhonda Velkso and Jesse Sherwood. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and is the first baby born at South Peninsula Hospital in the new year. His grandparents are Andy and Beverly Velsko of South Dakota and Rob and Nancey Sherwood of Idaho.
