Goldbelt names new CEO




Juneau's urban-based Native corporation named a new president and CEO Friday, according to a release from Goldbelt, Inc.

Robert G. Loiselle will take over control of Goldbelt's operations later this month, the release states. He takes over from Elliott Wimberly, who has been serving as interim president and CEO since Gary Droubay retired in June of 2011, the release states.

Loiselle served as president and CEO of Shee Atiká from 1999-2009, and has worked as a consultant to other Native corporations since then, the release states. He also worked as the general manager of Orca International Management. He earned an MBA from the University of Oregon and a bachelor of science in forestry from the University of New Hampshire.

"The Board of Goldbelt is pleased to have someone like Bob joining our team," Karen Taug, chairwoman of Goldbelt's board of directors, stated in a release. "He not only brings great perspective to our company, but also has solid business experience working in Alaska and he understands the unique nature of our Alaska Native corporations."
