Iliamna Natives form development corporation

Iliamna Natives, the Native corporation that owns 72,000 acres near a proposed mine project on the Alaska Peninsula, announced last week it has formed the Iliamna Development Corp.

According to information released by the corporation, it has become aware of the extensive mineral exploration under way around the nearby Pebble mine prospect and understands the project's parent company and the state of Alaska want to build a road across Iliamna land to connect the site to a port.

The five-person IDC board includes Myrtle Anelon, Hans Roehl, Garvey Anelon, Gary Krosch and John Rense.
