How forturnate we are to be able to appreciate the sprititual traditions of our neighbors and friends of the Russian Church. They will fast until the day of Epiphany and then celebrate with traditional Russian spiritual services.
They will share their blessings with the priest, family and friends, especially those in need.
The Epiphany in the Christian churches is less public but nevertheless a major feast day. In neither church is the giving of presents the focal point, but the remembrance of the birth and baptism of the Christ child.
Members of the Roman Church and other Christian denominations should take time to famiarize themselves with the traditions of the Eastern churches.
It can be a most fullfilling and gratifying experience.
Take a moment to wish our neighbors a joyous Christmas on Jan. 7.

Joe has been through two tours of duty in Iraq and more than likely will be sent again in the Spring. It was wonderful to see young Joe again and to see what a fine young man and proud Marine he has become. We listened to him speak of all the different cities he was through in the ancient land of Iraq.
