On Saturday, CACS and the Coalition for Homer Open Space and Trails hold Winter Trails Day snowshoe events. Starting at noon is a guided snowshoe hike at the Wynn Nature Center, Mile 1.5 E. Skyline Drive. Another guided snowshoe hike is noon-3 p.m. at the Baycrest Snowshoe Trail. Meet at the Rogers Loop trailhead.

Snowshoes in all sizes are available free for loan to CACS members or $5 for nonmembers at the CACS headquarters on Lake Street next to Ulmer's. Starting next Tuesday, guided snowshoe walks are held noon-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays at the Wynn Center. Call 235-6667 or visit www.akcoastalstudies.org.
