Is 2006 a time for diplomacy and peace? Can we ask, “Is war obsolete in this 21st century?” It is obvious when we read history that wars do not solve. We seem to have war, a lull, await youth to come of age — then war again for various and sundry reasons.
Once in war, it is difficult to end. War is a “save face” and false pride (“rideth before a fall”) situation. All war is a vicious cycle.
A young artist friend in South Carolina sent out a scroll to peoples over the world asking them to add their response to “war.” Good response from USA, Europe and even Israel and Japan. Today people are informed and have savvy and can figure what “is.”
Again, I reiterate, “a drop of water wears away stone.”
1. Pick up the pen — not the sword.
2. Use words — not bullets.
It is time for peace and with this there will be tolerance and compassion for all. We will have a “goodness” — a balance in our life of toil and play — if peace prevails we can fix the mix in 2006.
