Troopers
Information about fire, police and troopers is taken from public records consisting of logbooks and press releases.

Jan. 10

Troopers at 4:21 p.m. went to a two-vehicle accident between a semi-tractor trailer and a truck on the Sterling Highway and the Old Sterling Highway. They allege a 42-year-old Anchor Point man driving a 1986 Ford Bronco was unable to stop because of failed brakes when entering the highway from the Old Sterling Highway. The Bronco was struck by a 34-year-old Homer man driving a 1986 Peterbilt. All occupants wore seat belts and no one was injured. The accident caused $1,000 in damage to the Peterbilt and $6,000 in damage to the Bronco. Troopers cited the Anchor Point man for inoperative brakes and the Homer man for failure to prepare a daily inspection report for the semi.

Troopers at 9:53 p.m. arrested a 16-year-old Anchor Point person at a Kachemak City home on an outstanding warrant.

Jan. 11

Troopers at 5:30 p.m. arrested a 16-year-old Anchor Point boy in Homer after he escaped from Juvenile Intake custody while being held for transport to the Anchorage juvenile detention center. The boy was arrested without incident and returned to Juvenile Intake. Charges are being referred to Juvenile Intake for third-degree escape.
