Halibut proposals driven by profit

When good men stand by and do nothing, bad things happen to them. If the commercial halibut fishing industry is allowed to succeed in getting its plans implemented in placing restrictions against the Alaska sport fishing public, it will cause a devastating economic impact on the sport fishing public and Alaska port communities.

The selfish, profit-driven plans to decrease the daily bag limit of sport-caught halibut from two fish to one per day and the plans for restricting the access of the sport fishing public from the public resource of halibut will wreak havoc with all the port community businesses that now provide goods and services to the sport fishing public.

The commercial halibut fishing industry wants us all to stay home and buy commercially caught halibut instead of going sport fishing to catch our own halibut.
