Meeting the man himself
Darrel Oliver holds a photo of himself meeting Martin Luther King Jr. in San Diego, Calif., in 1965. Oliver spoke Monday at a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at WKFL Park of meeting King when Oliver was age 9. Oliver's mother was active in the civil rights movement, and was King's hostess during the visit.
"The peace that this man gave by his touh was amazing," Oliver said of shaking King's hand.
