The Rasmuson Foundation has announced its application postmark deadline for the Individual Artist Fellowship and Distinguished Arts Awards. Applications must be postmarked by March 1. The Fellowship Award is offered annually on a rotating basis for discipline. For 2007, artists can apply who work in choreography, folk and traditional art, crafts, literary arts or performing arts. The Distinguished Artist Award is given to mature, established artists working in any genre who have created an extensive body of work representing a high aesthetic level of ability and creativity. Art teachers grants open
The Alaska State Council on the Arts, the Rasmuson Foundation and the Alaska Arts & Culture Foundation invite teachers to apply for the Arts Educator Grant. The postmark deadline is March 1. Hospital calls for artists
The Central Peninsula Hospital Arts Committee, Soldotna, seeks art work for its new Mountain Tower addition. Kenai Peninsula artists are invited to submit existing or commissioned art work, including two-dimensional and three-dimensional paintings, drawings, prints, murals, mixed-media, sculpture, fabric art, collages, ceramics and photography.

Song contest announced
Student Films Across America announced a $5,000 prize for its theme song contest. Songwriters, musicians and bands are invited to submit entries on the festival’s Web site.
Student Films Across America is a nationally touring student film festival. Entries can be from any genre of song, but must contain the phrase “Student films across America.”
The contest closes April 15. A panel will narrow down the field, and songs will be posted on the site for voting. Until May 15, visitors to the site can vote for their favorite entry. The song with the most votes wins.
