White-out conditions resulting from blowing snow have made for dangerous driving conditions in the Homer area. The Beluga Slough crossing was temporarily shut down around noon. A winter weather advisory posted by the National Weather Service, Alaska Region Headquarters, was lifted earlier today. However, a squall is currently moving through the area with snow and winds expected to diminish in the early evening hours, said Bob Clay, NWS lead forecaster in Anchorage. Clay said to expect a three- to four-inch accumulation of snow through the afternoon. Winds at the Homer Airport are coming from the southwest, varying 20-30 miles per hour.
