Award nominees sought

South Peninsula Haven House seeks nominees for its annual Women of Distinction awards. Awards will be given in the categories of excellence in the arts, profession or vocational calling; role model for young women and girls, and giving back to the community. Haven House also will present the Hero of the Heart award to a person who has shown extraordinary commitment in helping Haven House's mission of supporting and empowering people impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault and promoting healthy families. Nominations are due Feb. 18. Forms are available at Haven House on Lake Street or its website at havenhousealaska.org. The awards dinner and auction is 5:30 p.m. March 25 at Land's End Resort. Admission is $35 per plate or $350 per table of eight. Tickets are available at the Homer Bookstore. For more information call Haven House at 235-7712.
