Homer quilters and anyone with quilting experience are invited to enter up to three pieces to be chosen for the third Annual Kenai Quilt Exhibition, to be held at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center in Kenai, Feb. 28-April 8. Entries must be submitted by Friday. Entry forms are available at Kenai Fabric Center, Robin's Place Fabrics, Quilt Kits Alaska and the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. The Pratt Museum is hosting "Always Getting Ready," black and white photographs by James Barker that depict Yup'ik life, and "Portrait of a Divided Maritime Family," color images by L. Saunders McNeill that portray a Siberian Yup'ik family divided by the cold war. The exhibit will run from Feb. 1 through April 3, with an opening reception from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Latitude 59 will exhibit "Israel a Visual Journey," photographs by Paul and Marilyn Hueper during the month of February.
"Emerging Artists," an exhibit of more than 40 pieces by 21 new artists and artists who have not had a solo exhibit, is being hosted by Homer Council on the Arts this month. An opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
