Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai. Her ashes will be returned to Japan for burial.

Mrs. Rosko was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Tokyo, Japan. While in Japan, she was a tour guide. After moving to the United States, she worked as a home health nurse for Group Health in Seattle from 1969 to 1974. She moved to Anchorage and worked in duty-free shops from 1979 to 1985. She also worked for the family business at various periods both in Seattle and Anchorage from 1969 to 1989. Upon selling the family business, she retired.

Mrs. Rosko enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking special meals, sewing, quilting, fishing, making friends and traveling.

"Yukiko, known by most people as 'Miko,' enjoyed being with her family and friends. She has a very friendly and outgoing personality. She was always willing to try a new challenge. She strived for quality and high goals in any task she attempted. She was a very dedicated and exceptional person. She enjoyed her life and will be greatly missed," her family said.

Mrs. Rosko is survived by her husband, Larry Rosko; son, David Hendrickson, both of Kenai; grandson, Erik Hendrickson of Homer; brothers, Katsunobu Okuma, Shin Okuma, Shigenobu Ito and Shigeyuki Okuma; and sisters, Hideko Wakatsuki, Yoriko Fujiyama and Eiko Yamada, all of Tokyo, Japan.
