South Peninsula Hospital




South Peninsula Hospital offers a series of six, two-hour classes to help people with long-term health conditions learn ways to feel better and be less limited by their illness. People with long-term conditions such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, heart disease, and other illnesses can benefit. A spouse, family member or friend is welcome to attend the classes with participants. The Living Well Alaska Training is offered 6-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, today through March 11, at the hospital's training center at 203 Pioneer Ave. The cost is $10 for the six week session. Registration is required and can be done by calling 235-0369.

SPH offers a two-day Safe Sitter class from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today and Friday at the SPH training center. The class fee is $70 and is limited to six students. Please bring a bag lunch both days. To register for these classes, call 235-0246 between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

For Heart Health Month, SPH offers discounted rates on the cardiac scoring CT test and a blood test. Each test is offered at $99. The CT test requires a physician referral, but the blood test is available without a referral. For more information on the CT test call 235-0363 and on the blood test call 235-0338.
