Brrrrr. Where did this cold weather come from? It sure was nice to see that sunshine last weekend, but Mother Nature must have thought she was spoiling us. Snow Rondi is Feb 26, 27, 28 and March 1st. This leaves plenty of time to coordinate your snow shoe softball team. The festivities for Snow Rondi begin on Thursday the 26th with an auction at the Anchor River Inn. Don't forget, all you pool players that want to sign up for the pool tournament on Friday need to do so prior to the auction at the Anchor River Inn. Did someone shout out "Bingo?" That's right, bingo at the Senior Center at 7 p.m. on Friday. Door open at 6 p.m. for this event. Also, the Anchor Point Seniors will be having breakfast on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and also on Sunday at the same time.
The Chapman School Events on Sat. begin at 10 a.m. and will end with the Al Garbe Coin Hunt. Abig "thank you" goes out to RJ Austin for continuing this event. Sunday there will be snowmobile -- okay, I know here in Alaska they call them "snowmachine" -- activities at Griners pit starting at noon. Stop in at the VFW to end Snow Rondi with a great Fish Fry from 4 to 6 p.m. These guys do a great job cooking halibut. There will be flyers up around Anchor Point that list all the weekend activities. What a great time to enjoy the great outdoors with your family. Redoubt puts us in national news. Take time out and make sure you are prepared if and when this volcano decides that it has just had enough. There are many resources out there that give you a list of things that will help you to be better prepared. May we all be safe in these unforeseen times ahead. Have a great weekend and please drive safe.
