Troopers Jan. 13 Troopers at 9:25 p.m. received report of a motor vehicle collision approximately .25 miles down North Fork Road in Anchor Point. A female driver collided with a parked 1994 Ford van and fled the scene in her 1998 Dodge pickup without identifying herself to the other party. On Jan. 14, the owner of the pick up reported the pickup had been stolen. Investigation revealed the owner of the pickup was on probation and had no driver's license. A 44-year-old Anchor Point woman was arrested Jan. 29 for probation violations and taken to Homer Jail without bail. She was charged with operating a vehicle without a license, leaving the scene of an accident and making a false report to the Homer Court. Jan. 22 Troopers at 4:21 p.m. received a report that four horses were being neglected by their owners at a residence near Anchor Point. Based on the investigation, it was determined two of the horses were in a state of starvation and the other two horses were in poor condition. All four horses were seized and placed in protective care. The owners, 25-year-old woman and a 30-year old man, both of Happy Valley, were issued summons to appear in court on charged of two counts of cruelty to animals. Jan. 30 Troopers at 2:23 p.m. received a report of a snowmachine accident on private property off Veater Road in Ninilchik. Troopers and Ninilchik EMS responded. Investigation determined Paul Moore, 24, of Ninilchik was riding his snowmachine at a high rate of speed on his driveway, lost control and impacted the rear of an unoccupied parked car in the driveway. Moore was transported to South Peninsula Hospital in Homer where he was declared deceased. Next of kin was present.
