Two weeks after a fire destroyed Butch and Judy Bullard's house on Caribou Lake, their friends and neighbors have begun rebuilding their home. As of Sunday, said John Chapple, a new 30-by-36-foot one-story house has been closed in. The weekend of Jan. 24-25, Dick Gregoire and others plowed in a road from the end of East End Road up the snowmachine trail to Caribou Lake. Skip Perk and truckers from Wise Brothers Trucking hauled in building supplies and hauled out debris. Chapple said at least two dozen volunteers have been helping out.

"In a week's time, the thing has come up out of the ashes," he said.

Chapple credited Gregoire with being the driving force on the rebuild.

"He's really going out of his way. He's making it happen," he said.
