Produced by Walking on Water Foundation, “Noah’s Arc” looks at other world-class surfers with similar experiences. It also features surfing footage from around the world.
“Noah’s story is inspiring,” Nic McLean, the film’s director, told Christian Surf Magazine. “Once you look a little closer, you find that there is another group of surfers who have very similar stories.”
The Christian surfing movement is a recent development in surfing culture, said Ty Gates, owner of Captain’s Coffee and one of Homer’s group of surfers. He said there are a lot of outreach programs done by surfers, who visit remote places and take on projects like cleaning up beaches or helping to build schools.
“They’re starting to pay back,” Gates said.
Surfer and former Homer resident Daniel Felton presents the films, Gates said. There also will be drawings and giveaways at the event.
