Are you looking for a really nice, friendly, low-impact, environmentally friendly pet? Have you ever considered a Guinea Pig?
Colonel Klink, a recent immigrant from the Hartz Mountains region of Germany, arrived in Homer last week with only a worn old leather suitcase and a satchel full of Gummi Bears. A friendly little fellow, Colonel Klink speaks practically no English but loves to be held, petted and fed his favorite treats -- Gummi Bears.

If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
