Homer High School's Drama Debate and Forensics team heads to the state tournament at East Anchorage High School this weekend, Feb. 17-19. Representing HHS are Lance Cowan, Adi Davis, Owen Duffy, Alder Fletcher, Herman Hannan, John Hannan, Matt Jasper, Matthew Meyer, Casey Parrett, Justice Sky, Adella Sundmark, Drew Turner and Neal Wimmerstedt. The DDF team recently participated in a tournament at Anchorage's West High School with the following results:

First, solo acting: Alder Fletcher;

First, duet acting: Alder Fletcher and Adella Sundmark;

Second, mime: Adi Davis, Herman Hannan and Adella Sundmark;

Second, solo acting: Owen Duffy;

Second, original oration: Justice Sky;

Second, policy debate speaker points: Ruby Quarton; and

Third, duo interpretation: Matt Jasper and Justice Sky.

Double feature set for Feb. 24

A double feature will be presented free of charge at the Homer Theater at 6 p.m. Feb. 24. The movies shown will be "One Year," a snowboard documentary, and "Walking on Water," a film about two surfers finding faith on the journey of a lifetime.

Pro snowboarder Andy Finch will attend. There will be lots of giveaways.
