Longtime Homer resident Mrs. Shirley Lee Wilkins, 66, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at her home in Homer.
Memorial services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at St. John's Catholic Church, 238 Jenny Lane in Homer.
Mrs. Wilkins was born Dec. 24, 1943, to Hugh and Stella Davies in Casper, Wyo. She graduated from high school and furthered her education by attending two years of college. Shirley moved to Alaska in 1983, living in various cities in the bush and then finally settling in Homer. She was a cook for various lodges while she was employed. Shirley was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Homer.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Forest W. Wilkins, of Homer; daughters, Kerri Geppert, and her husband, Steve, of Chugiak, and Kimberly LeFebre and her husband, Doug, of Pasco, Wash.; sisters, Barbara Schamp, and her husband, Frank, of Kennewick, Wash. and Pat Villalon of McKinney, Texas; brother, Richard Davies, and his wife, Susan, of Albuquerque, N.M.; granddaughters, Emily Geppert of Chugiak and Kali LeFebre of Pasco, Wash.; and grandsons Daniel Geppert of Chugiak and Garrett LeFebre of Pasco, Wash.
